How Do I Assign a Sales Representative?
This section is entirely intended for company or store owners.
You can find detailed information below about the purpose of assigning sales representatives and how to perform this process, which is a first in the Karaport Makina buying and selling e-commerce system.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF ASSIGNING A SALES REPRESENTATIVE?
Sales representatives act as the visible face of the seller company in the field. They provide information about the product range, promote products, and accelerate sales by being present in multiple locations at the same time where you, as company owners, cannot reach.
Imagine that you have a distributor company with its head office in Istanbul and dealerships in different cities. Let İzmir, Ankara, and Bursa be the cities where your regional dealerships are located.
If you do not want the person responsible for your customers in the İzmir region to focus on your customers in the Ankara region, it would be more logical for that person to be active only in İzmir and the surrounding areas. This prevents conflicts between dealerships and doubles your sales momentum, allowing you to achieve higher profits.
You can implement the same real-life structure within the Karaport virtual store system by assigning regional authority to sales representatives.
What you need to do is; include your sales representatives who handle your new or used machinery sales in different regions into the system and direct the machines within their responsible regions to them.
In this way, a customer looking for a machine or product in the İzmir region does not need to contact the Istanbul head office or dealerships in Bursa and Ankara. They can directly reach the nearest seller. Trust increases and the way for faster sales is opened.
HOW DO I ASSIGN A SALES REPRESENTATIVE ON KARAPORT MAKINA?
To do this, you must first have a store on karaport.com. If you are a store owner;
- Click on the section where your username is displayed and select "Sales Representatives" from the drop-down menu.
- From the page that opens, select "Add / Update Sales Representative" and proceed to the next step.
- At this stage, enter the sales representative’s information. A special password is created for the sales representative in that region to ensure security.
- We recommend adding your sales representative’s photo at this stage. This will be beneficial for you. Customers always want to know who they will be communicating with.
- After entering all the information, enter your store user password and save it to complete the sales representative registration process.
- At this stage, you will see a brief profile information of the sales representative you have registered.
After registration, the next step is to assign the listings that the sales representative will be responsible for and authorize them.
- Click on "Listing Management" from the bar where your store name is displayed or from the top section of the page, and continue by selecting active listings.
- Select and mark the circular section at the top left corner of the listings you want to authorize (with a tick).
- You can make multiple selections, meaning you can select more than one listing.
- Then go to the bottom of the page.
- In the section at the bottom of the page containing the red, orange, green, and blue colored boxes, click "Select Sales Representative" and choose the sales representative you have just registered.
- Click the box on the right side labeled "Transfer Selected Items".
You will see the warning message:
"Are you sure you want to change the owner of the selected listings?"
If you are sure, confirm and continue.
If you see the message:
"The selected listing(s) have been transferred to the selected person."
the process has been completed.
If you have reached this stage, it means that customers viewing the listings you selected will be able to see the contact information of the sales representative you authorized, together with their photo, on the right side of the listing in order to contact them.
Your store logo and store name will be displayed on listing pages and detail pages, showing which company or e-store the sales representative is affiliated with.
